Location is far from the city centre but in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood and a metro station in walking distance, seen from the window of the room. There is also a bus station in front of the hotel. Cleaning is done every day, towels changed daily. The breakfast provided from 6.30 to 10, the same every day, not outstanding but good enough for a fresh start of the day. The air conditioning didn't work so we had to accept the heat offered by the hotel even though it was very cold outside and we would have wanted more degrees inside the room. On arrival we entered with our car through the closed gate. Reception at 20.00 was welcoming an recognized our diamond honors states. The living room is nice and we had the only balcony on the north side of the building. The large bed was excellent, the spare bed for my son was a bit basic and had no duvet as the hotel doesn't have them. The room was clean and we had nespresso and tea in the room. The mini bar was almost empty but we didn't use that anyway. So the place is great, the down is breakfast and staff. The breakfast area is nice but there is no music and when there are not many guests feels quite dead. The staff doesn't speak a lot of English even though all guest I saw were speaking English. There is no egg station, the pancakes are placed on a table and left in the cold for whenever you decide to have one. For vegetarians there isn't a lot of choice. The coffee needs improvement, not worthy to be served in a 'grand' Italian hotel. After coming back from our day in Milan the room was cleaned but all items that we used were not replaced. I would expect a manager to check rooms when they are cleaned. We had 8 conditioners in our bathroom but no soap or shampoo.... No new coffee, no new tea.... So management has work to do to make it a grand experience but that shouldn't be too hard when you are working in such a magnificent building.
